Benefit Concert for the Firehouse Center for the Arts
Program
Nick and Yeesun will present an exploratory concert of masterworks by J. S. Bach, Bela Bartok, and Maurice Ravel.
The concert, part of the Newburyport's Firehouse Center for the Arts Home Concert Series, will be held Saturday, April 10 at 7:30pm in a private home thanks to the generosity of Julia Farwell-Clay and Walter Clay, who are opening their carriage house at 203 High St. in Newburyport for the occasion.
Before each piece they will review several aspects of the music, highlighting these points through examples and manuscripts projected on a screen.
Tickets are $60, $55 for Firehouse members, and include a wine reception with dessert, coffee and conversation following the concert. For information of reservations, call 978-462-7336 or visit www.firehouse.org.Read preview coverage of the event in Newburyport Today

Arts-Inspired Experiences Await You at the Firehouse!
The Firehouse Center for the Art is a 195-seat intimate theater on the waterfront of beautiful downtown historical Newburyport. This vibrant cultural center offers national, regional and local live performances at affordable prices. Additionally, we are proud of our family and senior programming.
1991 heralded the Gala Opening of the Firehouse Center. Over the past seventeen years, the Firehouse Center has been a hallmark of local culture and arts, drawing patrons from the local communities as well as a large tourist crowd in the spring, summer and fall. Programming is broad-based, and includes dance, music, theater, an art gallery, and a school show series.New initiatives this past year include a Saturday Morning Family Series featuring interactive entertainment for young audiences and a Celebrity concert series to attract a more diverse audience. In January of 2009, we will feature our 7th annual New Works Festival, inviting writers throughout New England to submit works for staged readings. One of our important goals this year is to design programming that invites older adults in the community to be a key part of the "Arts-Inspired Gathering Place" of Newburyport!
